MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Andrew George De Grado Foundation, Inc. is to pass on Andrew De Grado’s inspiring musical legacy through the hands of today’s gifted pianists. The Foundation has pledged to seek out opportunities for talented pianists to perform in public the beautiful music they so love and are willing to share with us. It is in this spirit, that we honor Andrew for his pianistic accomplishments and the support he gave unselfishly to his fellow musicians.

Since the establishment of the Andrew George De Grado Foundation, Inc. in 1998, the foundation has sponsored piano competitions and winners’ recitals for both piano soloists and piano accompanists. Also, it has provided opportunities for young pianists to perform at various music functions. In addition, the foundation has sponsored various benefit concerts featuring world-renowned classical artists including: Violinist Joshua Bell; pianist/narrator Richard Glazier; pianist/conductor Ian Hobson; pianists Carol Ferri, Anna Klein and Simon Mulligan; flutist John Phillip Rush; clarinetist Marianne Breneman.
