Alongside solo and concerto repertoire, Simon is recital partner to both Lynn Harrell and Joshua Bell, performing regularly throughout the United States, Europe, and the Far East. He has toured Japan with the King's Singers, and recently returned from a series of concertos and chamber music in Hong Kong with Michael Collins, Lynn Harrell, William Preucil and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of David Atherton. These concerts will soon be accessible via the internet company, the Global Music Network at: http://www.gmn.com. Also, Simon performs worldwide with the London International Piano Quintet, with recent concerts at the Teatro Colon of Buenos Aires and the Berlin Philharmonic Hall. In addition, Simon has a jazz quartet that has performed at festivals in Soho, Barbados, Paris, and Germany. This season, Simon will perform at festivals in Aspen, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Barbados, Milan, Rome, Vienna, Prague, Gstaad, and Tokyo.
Simon's other musical interests include composing for film and television. Recent commissions include the BBC, Mentorn Films, National Grid, Pulse Entertainment, and Video Arts. Simon has recorded internationally both in the solo and chamber music field, winning various awards. In 1992, he celebrated his debut at London's Barbican Hall with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and was invited by Yehudi Menuhin to record his first compact disc. This led to a seven-year collaboration and friendship, culminating into what was to be Lord Menuhin's final concert. Simon's recent recordings include Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition, his own Suite for Piano and Orchestra, the premiere recording of Alexis Weissenberg's Sonate en Etat de Jazz, and works by Schnittke with violinist Daniel Hope and the English Symphony Orchestra under the direction of William Boughton.
