Daniel Kahn

Daniel Kahn is a tenth grade honor student at Pingry School in Martinville. He began his piano studies at the age of eight and has been studying piano for the past four and a half years with Tomoko Harada of Basking Ridge.

Daniel was a winner of the Piano Teachers Society of America (PTSA) competitions in the Solo, Composer's Choice, and Asian Music categories during the past four years. In addition, he was a winner of the Young Pianist Competition of New Jersey in the Solo Division in 2002 and 2001 and a winner of the Cecilian Music Club Young Artist Competition in 2001. Daniel has been awarded High Honors in NJMTA Annual Auditions and performed in Honors Recitals of the Chinese American Cultural Association Young People's Competition and the Somerset County Annual Honors Recital Auditions. He has performed six times in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and also at Merkin Concert Hall in New York. Daniel's other interests include chess, soccer, and tennis.

Daniel Kahn is a winner of the 2003 Fifth Annual Andrew De Grado Piano Competition in the soloist category with his performance of Liszt's Etude in D-flat Major, "Un Sospiro."
