Catherine Kim

Catherine Kim is a seventh grade student at Columbia Middle School in Berkeley Heights. She has been studying piano for six years with Carmela Cecere of Chatham. Catherine is a winner of seven Piano Teachers Society of America (PTSA) annual competitions in different categories, and as a winner, performed in Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York. In 2002, Catherine received her PTSA five-year Carnegie Festival Student Award. During those five years, Catherine was also the competition winner of four Mark Nevin’s original compositions. In addition to her piano studies, Catherine is a black belt in Tae Kwan Do and enjoys reading.

Catherine Kim was a winner in the 2002 Fourth Annual Andrew De Grado Piano Competition in the soloist category with her performance of Harmonious Blacksmith by Handel.
