Samuel Budish
Samuel Budish is an eighth grade
student at the Millburn Middle School. He has taken piano lessons for
six years. Presently, Samuel is a student of Sophia Ososkov of Springfield
and has been studying piano with her for the past four years. Samuel
has won several piano competitions and has performed in Weill Recital
Hall at Carnegie Hall as a winner of the Piano Teachers Society of America
(PTSA) competition in the Popular Piano Styles category. In addition
to his classical studies, Samuel is interested in jazz and enjoys playing
informally in the jazz band On the Mark. Also, Samuel plays
keyboard percussion in the Millburn Middle School band, wind ensemble
and orchestra. Last year, he successfully auditioned to participate
in Region One All North Jersey Intermediate Band. In addition to his
musical interests, Samuel enjoys sports and is an avid soccer and basketball
player.
Samuel Budish was a winner in the 2002 Fourth Annual Andrew De Grado
Piano Competition in the soloist category with his performance of The
Cat & The Mouse, Scherzo "Humoristique"
by Copland.
